Smackdown Will Now be LIVE! WWE Brand Split

WWE released a statement on their website starting that started July 19th Smacksown will move to Tuesday nights and will be broadcast live.

Not only that but each show will have their own roster with the stars of each show appearing EXCLUSIVELY on said show (so essentially a brand split).

No date has been given on when the roster draft will occur but we will likely hear more on the May 30th episode of Raw.

The brand split will mean individual storylines for Raw and Smacksown. This also leaves me wondering which titles will be given to which show as the Women currently only have one title and the women's rider is stronger than ever so if there was ever a time to introduce a second Women's championship it would be now

This is an exciting time in WWE and shows the New Era really isn't afraid of change. Smackdown has never been life before so this is a huge move.

Trish Stratus on a WWE Return: "I'd Return to be Heel Again"

As the WWE Women's Division, and women's wrestling in general continue to grow, so does the attention the female performers of WWE receive.

Naturally, Trish Stratus, one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time is still very much a hot topic when it comes to the women's revolution and Trish recently gave her opinion on the current WWE women's division (among other things) when speaking to Sports Illustrated.

During the interview Trish was asked about a possible WWE return and she replied saying it would be possible under the right circumstances.

Here's what she had to say:

“Could I physically go back and do what I did before? At this point, yes, I can do that. But I’d only go back if it was worth it and if it was a challenge for me. Something that’s different and unique, like playing a heel again, which would be super cool. I’ve gone back as a babyface, so it would have to be something challenging and something that would elevate either the division or a talent. Not just me for my own sh–s and giggles to raise my brand. It would be good if there was a moment to elevate a character. I’d love to work with Ronda Rousey, but I don’t know if she’d be up for that.”

She also stated that she sees Sasha Bank as the future of the women's division and thinks that the women of WWE are ready to start headling PPVs.

A Trish stratus return is something that would get the WWE universe very excited and hearing that it is a possibility, at least for Trish, is great news. Oh, and a Sasha Banks vs Trish Stratus feud would be phenomenal.

Dana Brooke Makes Main Roster Debut

Last on Raw saw Dana Brooke make her main roster debut in a backstage segment with Emma and Becky Lynch.

Dana being called up is a surprise to a lot of people since there is a few women still at NXT that were expected to be called up first, but seeing the team of Emma and Dana on the main roster is exciting as they did some amazing heel work in NXT throughout most of last year.

Emma has always been incredible in the ring but Dana really helped her when it came to character and Emma really found her groove.

Dana will definitely be an interesting addition to the roster and I can't wait to see her in the ring.

Lana Working More WWE Live Events

Although Lana had her in-ring debut at Wrestlemania, we didn't get to see much of her.  She was only in the ring for 16 seconds during the match so nobody was really able to see how well she did.

On the Wrestlemania revenge tour Lana was working 8 women tag team matches with Naomi, Tamina and Summer Rae against the team of Natalya, Paige, Eva Marie and Alicia Fox and was reportedly able to keep up (most likely thanks to her limited time in the ring) and she is now working more WWE live events with her latest being in Las Cruces, NM in a tag team bout where she teamed with Emma to take on the team of Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.

DailyWrestlingNews reported that Lana was one of the fan favorites and that her and Emma work well as a team.

Lana working more live events gives her a chance to test herself beyond the performance center and get a feel for the crowd before she takes a more prominent in-ring role on TV.

Mandy Rose Reportedly Impressing at NXT Live Events

WWE Tough Enough runner up Mandy Rose (Amanda Saccomano) was signed to a five year deal with WWE and joined the cast of Total Diva shortly after. This led a lot of people to believe that she would go down a similar path to Eva Marie; focusing less on wrestling and more on being a reality star.

However it's clear Mandy has been training hard as the reviews for her recent matches at NXT live events have been very positive with a recent match in Cocoa Beach, FL being called her best to date, and it was said that she was able to keep up with the likes of Asuka, Adrienne Reese and Nia Jax in the tag team bout.

Mandy won't be returning to Total Divas for season 6 so she will likely be able to put all of her time into training at the Performance Centre.

Hopefully Mandy will continue to improve at the rate she has been and wil be able prove herself to the NXT crowd by the time her TV debut comes.

Cameron Released from WWE

Yesterday I wrote about WWE Superstar Cameron being brave as she was the only WWE superstar speak out (at the time) about Ryback's situation.

This morning WWE released a number of superstars including Cameron. Not a lot of people gave Cameron a chance even though she was improving fast and showed she was willing to learn and work hard. But for me, at least, this is sad news.

Cameron posted the following statement before her release:

"First I want to make it clear that I respect everyone's freedom of speech and opinion however, I do believe one should understand a situation before they speak out in a public forum.

My "Amen brother" comment has seemed to bother some of the IWC who hasn't taken the time to actually comprehend the substance of Ryback's statement. I fully support my peers in WWE and I respect those who have the courage to stick up for what they believe in. Regardless of whether I agree with his feelings or not, I applaud Ryback for standing up for himself and openly speaking his mind. If you don't value yourself and believe in yourself there is no reason for anybody else to.

We the performers know what goes on behind the scenes day in and day out in our business and how much we sacrifice and put into our craft. Every superstar on the roster works relentlessly to improve themselves and be the best performer that they can be. Whether they are a perennial champion and "the face of the company" or if they are a "jobber" we all work very hard to entertain our fans. You may think somebody sucks or has no talent and thus should be fired but that does not mean that performer isn't busting their ass and doing what's asked of them. I love the WWE universe because they are some of the most passionate and loyal fans in the world. I think the majority of the fans are very smart and very invested in the business but some, who appear to be the most vocal on social media, continue to do nothing but bash talent and twist words to suit their own agendas on a daily basis.

Every single day I get at least one tweet or read one post where someone is bashing me for what I said on Tough Enough 5 years ago or for my botched pin on Raw. Look in the mirror and tell me you never made a mistake in your life. I am human after all. I have seen legends in the past and my current peers make mistakes in the ring and during promos, it happens get over it! I never claimed to be a childhood avid wrestling fan. Everyone takes a different path into the WWE. Some come from sports backgrounds, some from dancing and modeling while others have trained their entire lives to become a WWE superstar. 5 years ago when I was on Tough Enough I did not possess the knowledge of professional wrestling that I do today. I earned the opportunity to be on that show and despite being the first one eliminated I was signed to a contract. Since that day I have worked my butt off to improve my wrestling skills. I have studied long and hard to understand the business and it's history because I understood why the WWE fans were so offended by my response to Mr. Austin's question.

I have trained hard and done everything that has been asked of me. I know that doesn't make me special because we all do that here, but it goes to show that despite what you read or see on the Internet the passion to be great, the drive to be successful and the blue collar work ethic is there.

Cyber bullying is a major problem. Yes, we understand that we are public figures and yes we know coming into this business that we will be analyzed under a microscope 24/7 for everything we say and do but is there really any reason to tell someone that they must sleep around to be where they are? Is there any reason to tell someone they should kill themselves or to attack their family and personal issues over wrestling? I can't think of a single reason.

I know some may read this rant of mine and bash me even further. I accept that. I do not intend to disrespect anybody with this rant. I merely want to share my feelings with you all since a lot of you feel the need to bash talent and bully them on a daily basis with your tweets and posts. The passion you have for our business is respectable but the way some of you express it is deplorable. For those fans who are respectful and spend their precious time and money on us I thank you and love you with all my heart. For those who are not fans of me and voice their opinions in a respectful and constructive way I thank you and appreciate your criticism. For those who do nothing but bash talent in a disrespectful, cruel and personal way I have nothing to say to you except give your mother my love when she comes downstairs with your dinner"

She has since posted a statement on Twitter about her time in WWE and has stated that she will post a longer update soon.

Personally, I wish Cameron all the best and hope to see her on the independent scene soon as she has proved she's willing to learn and improve.

Good luck, Cameron.

Nia Jax squashes Hall of Famer's daughter

Last night on NXT we got one women's match which saw Nia Jax face Tessa Blanchard who is the daughter of Tully Blanchard, Hall of Famer and former Horseman.

The match wasn't long at all with Nia Jax annihilating Tessa for 95% of the match, but both women were impressive. Nia Jax is being built back up as an unstoppable monster heel after her loss to Bayley and it's reported that the plan is the have her face Asuka for the title.

Cameron Speaks Out in Support of Ryback

After Ryback spoke out against WWE and how the pay-gap between winners and losers (despite it being pre-determined) is too large he brought a lot of heat on himself.

A lot of people, Ryback included, believe he is soon to be released due to his words and nobody from WWE had interjected or spoke out about the situation until now.

Cameron tweeted the following to the Superstar:

She is the first WWE employee to acknowledge Ryback's post and that was a risky move, so kudos to her.

This comes at a time when Cameron is just revitalizing her career and has been training hard with Carlo Cannon and from recent footage of her both training and at NXT live shows it appears to be paying off.

You can see a training montage below.
